An Epic Core Inside The Keyboard

A powerful ARM Cortex-M4 chip (MCU) equipped with 256K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers. The polling rate is 1000 Hz right out of the box on 2.4 GHz and wired modes (90 Hz on Bluetooth mode), which makes the latency hardly noticeable even in competitive games.

Gasket Mount Design

The Double Gasket Design is a new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plates, we added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce the acoustic resonance between the metals and reduce the noise of the impacted metals.

Suitable for All Devices

Built with the Mac users’ experience in mind while still retaining compatibility for Windows devices, the Q1 Max comes with a system toggle and an additional set of customized keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. You can now save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.

Wow. I mean... WOW!

Granted this is my first mechanical keyboard, but i'm pretty blown away by how good the Q1 Max is! It feels and sounds great right out of the box. You can feel the quality here. Easy setup and lots of connectivity options. This thing is a tank! It sounds super creamy (to me) without needing any further modding. It might be fun to mess around, but I think that Keychron has really been paying attention to all the social media influencers. They've put together an amazing package here to amaze and delight most users from the start without the need to crack this thing open. Sound and feel is super smooth, not pingy what-so-ever. I'm running the Gateron Jupiter Banana switches and they sound amazing!

My first mechanical keyboard and I love it!

I received my Q1 Max yesterday. It's gorgeous. I got the banana switches. They are so comfortable and satisfying to type on. The keyboard sounds marbly and thocky right out of the box. Connecting the keyboard using the 2.4 GHz receiver was instantaneous and seamless.

It took me about half an hour to figure out how to use the VIA to customize some of the keys to fit my needs. To do so, I reviewed the documentation on the Keychron website and watched some quick tutorials on YouTube. I suggest using VIA over QMK as it's more beginner-friendly.

Since Q1 Max is noticeably taller than most keyboards, I recommend getting a wrist/palm rest. I got the resin palm rest from Keychron, and it's super lovely and comfy.

I am delighted with my purchases and will recommend Keychron to my friends and family!

Finally a good "thock"

I was not sure whether I should get this keyboard since I already had the Q1 Pro, but I decided to order it anyway as a sort of Christmas gift from myself to myself. And after a week or so of using it I can definitely say it was worth the upgrade!

While the Q1 Pro has a solid foundation, unless you mod it quite a bit it is going to sound a bit hollow or "pingy". I did apply some stickers under the switches but it was only a very marginal improvement despite taking quite some effort to apply them. After that experience, I frankly did not bother to try more mods.

The Q1 Max on the other hand sounds remarkably good right out of the box! It has just the right "thock" to it. No more pingy sound, nice keycaps, and the wireless dongle is a nice addition to the Bluetooth.

If you are unsure which switches to get, I highly recommend the Banana switches.
